Freight Industry Times Moves with the Times

29th January 2010

Specialist communications company Ten Alps Publishing relaunches its Freight Industry Times website to offer enhanced features.

Freight Industry Times has always moved with the times and that’s why in its 10th anniversary year its greatly enhanced website www.freight-online.co.uk  offers improved integration with the print magazine, all the key topics and features, along with fresh elements.

The new website contains:

·         Separate sections on road, rail, air and sea

·         Specific  content on multimodal transport and logistics

·         A new integrated freight online directory to allow visitors to find the contact details of thousands of companies using a range of search tools

·         Enhanced video content hosting capabilities to showcase the latest digital content

With this relaunch, users will be able to find the information they need faster and easier. The new site continues to provide access to regular editorial and debate from leading industry voices Geoff Dunning, Chief Executive of the Road Haulage Association and Lord Berkeley, the Chairman of the Rail Freight Group, to cement its position as the central resource for commentary on the freight industry.

Michael Parry, editor of Freight Industry Times and its website, said: “Since its launch in 2000, the newspaper has had an important role to play in providing independent comment from all sectors of the freight transport industry.  However, the relaunch of the website takes us to a new level in that it enables us to provide up-to-date news and even more in-depth articles from key individuals – incorporating video footage, an online directory and links to organisations and companies.

“Over the past ten years, the publication has become essential reading for professionals involved in the movement of goods within, to and from the UK.  Now the website not only allows us to dramatically increase our readership in the UK but to also reach a global audience, reflecting the very nature of the sector we represent.”

This relaunch is also a precursor to the introduction of a number of new services and features that will be introduced over the forthcoming months.
